Checking in visitors with the scan app

Scan QR tickets with a phone or tablet, switch between validate and redeem, and see instantly why a ticket is refused.

The scan app runs in the browser on any phone or tablet with a camera. No installation, no separate hardware.

Getting started

  1. 1Open ticketjoy.app/app on the device and sign in with your pincode.
  2. 2Go to Scan and allow camera access.
  3. 3Pick the mode: Validate only checks, Redeem checks the ticket in for good.
  4. 4Hold the QR code in front of the camera — the result appears with colour and sound.

What the statuses mean

  • Green — valid ticket, checked in.
  • Amber — valid, but outside its time slot. Let your staff decide.
  • Red — already scanned, cancelled or unknown. The reason is shown below the message.
Patchy signal on site? The scan app buffers scans locally and syncs as soon as the connection returns.
